Sony has released a new system update for PS Vita that upgrades its firmware to version 2.05. The update is mandatory, meaning that you won’t be able to sign into the PlayStation Network or browse the PlayStation Store without first downloading the new system software.
Here’s Sony’s official description of what version 2.05 does:
“System software stability during use of some features has been improved.”
Besides improving “system software stability”, it’s likely that the new firmware contains a few security enhancements as hackers managed to find an exploit in version 2.02 using a certain game that has since been pulled from the PlayStation Store.
