French developer Quantic Dream has garnered a reputation for developing unique games featuring complex storylines and branching narratives. The studio is currently working on the PS3 exclusive Beyond: Two Souls which is expected to release sometime this year.
Now it appears as though Quantic Dream is simultaneously developing a game for the next-gen PlayStation. Internet supersleuth Superannuation recently discovered that the company registered a domain for “SingularityPS4.com” on November 5th last year.
While a game called “Singularity” already exists (Activision holds the trademark), this title will probably be modified slightly before the game is formally announced and seems to tie in with the Kara tech demo which was unveiled at GDC 2012. Studio head David Cage has previously stated that the demo was partly inspired by Raymond Kurzweil’s book “The Singularity is Near” which proposes that we’ll be able to augment our bodies and minds using a combination of genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics in the near future.
