The new PlayStation Store went live in North America and Europe late last year and while it offered a more visually attractive and structured experience, users complained about long load times and stability issues.
Earlier today Sony released patch 1.02 for the PlayStation Store to counter some of the common complaints associated with the revamped version. The patch weighs in at 26MB and appears to introduce a number of performance gains based on my time browsing the updated PS Store. While it still takes a few seconds to load after launching it from the XMB, once it’s open the browsing experience is appreciably snappier and stability-related error messages appear to be a thing of the past.
Have you tried out the updated PlayStation Store yet and if so, have you experienced any performance gains? Let us know in the comments.
On a side note, the new-look PlayStation Store will launch in Japan this Wednesday.
