Due to the Christmas and work holidays, I’ve missed a couple of Guess the Game features, but today it has made its return! Before the break I tested your knowledge of three games and a Bonus title and asked you to identify them with screenshots.
Here are the answers:
-
Game 1: Quarantine: A 1994 racing/first-person shooter computer game for MS-DOS and 3DO, created by Imagexcel and published by GameTek.
-
Game 2: One Must Fall: 2097: A fighting videogame for all IBM-compatible computers, programmed by Diversions Entertainment.
-
Game 3: Monster Bash: A side-scrolling platform videogame developed and published by Apogee Software on 9 April 1993 for MS-DOS PC.
-
Bonus Game: Ignition is a PC game released in 1997 by Virgin Interactive.
I won’t keep you much longer because here are today’s games – some old and some a bit newer than others, but all good classics in my opinion:
Game 1:
This was an awesome racing game and the first of its kind where I ever saw a jet-powered car. One cool feature I enjoyed was the commentator: Every time you hit a wall or another car he would scream “Watch the paintwork!”
Game 2:
This was a great adventure game and I would so love them to release this classic on Xbox LIVE Arcade. This game also had a sequel. I can’t say anymore or I will give it away.
Game 3:
I still think this was one of the scariest games I’ve played, ever. The atmosphere in the game was creepy and the story behind it was epic.
Game 4:
As you know, I am big into my first-person shooters and this was one of the first ‘open world’ FPS games I played. It had plenty of action and hi-tech weapons. You also had opportunities to hack door panels.
Game 5:
This was an RTS spin-off of a very popular game, just like Halo Wars was to Halo, and included some epic battles. My dad liked this game so much that he bought the sequel to it.
Can you guess all the games? Have you played any of them? Happy gaming and good luck.
