2012 was a fantastic year for The Walking Dead developer Telltale Games as the company’s latest episodic adventure game garnered countless awards and racked up massive sales across multiple platforms.
Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Telltale’s CEO Dan Connors said that the five-part series has sold more than 8.5 million episodes since it made its debut in April, with about a quarter of these sales stemming from the iOS market. Connors also stated that the series currently has the most momentum on iOS devices, with sales climbing whenever The Walking Dead TV show is on.
A second season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead game is in the works thanks to the incredible success of the initial series, and Telltale plans to use the revenue generated by the first five episodes to continue to expand the studio.
