So… it’s not the Day of Reconciliation in South Africa today, because we all know that we celebrate that day on December 16th, but because the date fell on a Sunday the chance to reflect on our country’s history has been shifted to today, December 17th, while netting citizens a public holiday.

December 16th is a day steeped in South African history, with incredible political and cultural significance – the mighty Wikipedia tells all. Even though it’s a public holiday in the country and time for a bit of rest and relaxation, we’ll still have a number of interesting items appearing on El33tonline today.

You’ve already seen Lisa’s excellent editorial with her picks for most impressive games of 2012, and you’ll see another unmissable write-up from her, as well as a new community podcast and the announcement of El33tonline’s Ultimate Games of the Year, amongst others. Stay tuned!

We wish you a happy public holiday, South Africa – enjoy!
