One of the PS Vita’s most underutilised features is ‘Cross-Controller’ – the handheld’s ability to serve as a controller and second screen for a PS3 game. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 made modest use of this feature but no game released since the PS Vita’s launch has demonstrated the type of innovative gameplay that is possible with its Cross-Controller functionality.
Thankfully this will all change when the LittleBigPlanet 2 Cross-Controller Pack is released next week on the PlayStation Store. The DLC will be priced at $4.99/€4.99 and will be available when the PS Store updates in North America (Tuesday) and Europe (Wednesday).
The Cross-Controller Pack will not only provide new story levels for Sackboy to undertake, but will also allow the LBP2 community to create and play Cross-Controller levels to their heart’s content. Personally, I can’t wait to see what the community cooks up using all the new tools at their disposal!
Here’s the official synopsis of Sackboy’s adventures in this DLC pack along with some new screenshots:
“In the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack, Sackboy joins up with a group of lovable Space Pirates as they race to find a valuable treasure long thought lost to the Cosmos. On their adventure they’ll encounter new obstacles that can only be overcome with the help of the PlayStation Vita’s unique features in surprising and exciting ways.”
