God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta coming to PlayStation Plus next month, new trailer showcases brutal action

Sony has begun sending out beta invites for God of War: Ascension to select PlayStation Network users, and has revealed that PlayStation Plus subscribers in both North America and European territories will be able to access the game’s multiplayer beta from early next month.

The beta will be available to download from the PlayStation Store on January 8th in the US and January 9th in Europe. It includes two game modes (Team Favor of the Gods, and Favor of the Gods) and two maps (Desert of Lost Souls, and Forum of Hercules).

Here’s a new trailer promoting God of War: Ascension’s multiplayer component, along with some screens taken from the beta’s two maps:
