This past Friday evening RPG gamers from all corners of the globe felt their pulses quicken as Dark Souls 2 was announced via a beautiful CG trailer at the Spike VGAs 2012. Both Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls kick off with a similarly epic CG cut-scene introducing each game’s setting and boss enemies, so it’s highly likely that what we saw at the VGAs will serve as Dark Souls 2’s opening sequence.
Namco Bandai recently released fifteen screens taken from the trailer that allow us to scrutinise Dark Souls 2’s foreboding fantasy world for clues about how this game is connected to the other two ‘Souls’ titles.
Take a look at the screens below:
Dark Souls 2 is currently being developed for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 by Japanese studio From Software. No release date has been revealed as yet.
