Spike VGAs 2012: Award winners announced – Borderlands 2, The Walking Dead and more win big!

The evening of December 7th played host to this year’s Spike Video Game Awards 2012 which, beneath the glitz, glamour, performances and flames, is ostensibly an awards ceremony that aims to recognise the very best games, studios and performances of the year.

The list of nominees for this year’s Spike VGAs was rather intimidating, but the panel of judges (made up of editors from leading outlets around the world) has made its collective decision, bestowing ultimate praise on a great collection of titles.

What won game of the year? Which titles were considered the best in their genre? The full list follows below:

  • Best Fighting Game: Persona 4 Arena (Atlus/ARC System Works/Atlus)

  • Best Adapted Video Game: The Walking Dead: The Game (Telltale Games)
