Microsoft has released details of its Xbox 360 Black Friday report, which included the week from Sunday November 18th to Friday November 23rd. Major Nelson shared the news of the internal data for the publisher’s Black Friday numbers on his blog.
According to the report, over 750 000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold in the US alone, a number that exceeded internal forecasts.
The sales of Xbox LIVE Gold subscriptions increased by more than 50 percent compared to last year’s Black Friday week. And with all of these subscriptions sold, activity on Xbox LIVE increased over the weekend, on Sunday alone over 14 million people logged onto Xbox LIVE across the world with over 72 million hours of use racked up in just one day!
There was a 43% increase in US entertainment application hours logged on Xbox LIVE during the Black Friday week compared to 2011.
