You might know Bungie as the creator and previous series steward for the crushing Halo franchise, but now that the studio has moved on and penned a ten-year publishing deal with Activision, and details on the pair’s partnership have come to light, more information on Bungie’s next game, codenamed ‘Destiny,’ has appeared ahead of schedule.
In true Bungie fashion, however, the studio has risen to the occasion.
Story details, images and other information on Destiny have been leaked to IGN, which the site says were compiled for advertising purposes and left the care of an ad agency. We’re not going to repost those images and details here – if you’re desperate for the info, you can visit IGN for that particular scoop.
What’s interesting about the story is that, instead of staying quiet and sitting on the reveal, Bungie has officially responded to the leaked details with a post on its site, which reads:
“Go ahead. Take a peek. It’s alright. We weren’t quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can’t wait to finally show you what we’ve really been up to.”
To cap it all off, the studio released its own official screenshot of the game:
We will dip in here and say that the description of Destiny is very exciting indeed, and Bungie wishes to make the game feel “like a mythic adventure,” and to create a universe “as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise.”
Lofty goals indeed, but we’re going to take Bungie’s advice and sit tight, as the studio’s post sign-off recommends:
“Stick around, we haven’t even started yet.”
