Media Create Japanese Hardware Sales for week ending November 18th: PS Vita sales triple

This week’s Media Create hardware chart sees the 3DS continue to dominate proceedings with the 3DS XL selling 117 435 units and the original 3DS model shifting 51 441 units. It will be interesting to see how these figures change as we get closer to Christmas, with all signs currently pointing to Nintendo’s handheld having a bumper holiday period.

PS Vita Cosmic Red

The PS Vita moved ahead of the PSP to take fourth place on the latest hardware chart. Sales of the handheld more than tripled week-over-week thanks to the introduction of two new colours – Cosmic Red and Sapphire Blue – which hit retailers on November 15th. With no major software titles on the horizon, it’s unlikely that the PS Vita will meet Sony’s sales expectations over the holiday season unless some sort of price cut is implemented.
