3DS sales have improved dramatically since Nintendo slashed the handheld’s price by over 30 percent in August 2011 – just five months after the console launched.
Nintendo recently announced that the 3DS and 3DS XL have sold just under 6 million units in the US alone. Worldwide sales were at 22 million units as of September 30th, with software sales at 64 million units.
Nintendo also revealed that a limited edition Flame Red 3DS bundle will be released in the US on ‘Black Friday’, November 23rd, for $170. The bundle includes the Flame Red variant of the original 3DS model and comes pre-installed with Super Mario 3D Land.
