Media Create Japanese Hardware Sales for week ending November 11th: 3DS sells 187k!

There’s no stopping the 3DS as both models of the handheld combined to sell an astonishing 187 077 units to take the top spots on the latest Media Create hardware chart. The 3DS has now sold over 8 million units in Japan, which puts it slightly behind the PS3 in terms of lifetime sales in the region. This is an amazing achievement considering how much longer Sony’s console has been on the market.

Animal Crossing 3DS XL

While the surge in 3DS sales was prompted by the release of Animal Crossing: New Leaf this past week, the Xbox 360 also received a decent sales boost courtesy of Halo 4.

Will Nintendo’s current success with the 3DS carry over to the platform holder’s imminent Wii U console? We’ll have to wait a few more weeks to find out!
