With the reveal of Splinter Cell: Blacklist at E3 earlier this year, hardcore fans of the series balked at the overtly action-oriented nature of the demonstration, while the game’s showing at gamescom 2012 didn’t do anything to assuage concerns that Ubisoft was slowly syphoning the stealth out of the franchise.
Developers working on the game have since been on record as saying that the action sequences at these events were to chosen to merely catch our attention up front, while classic Splinter Cell stealth gameplay is still a major part of Blacklist.
