As teased last week, the latest episode in Halo 4’s Spartan Ops series of playable missions is now available for owners of the game, and this time you and your team of Spartans will be on the back foot thanks to a mysterious artefact, discovered in Episode 1.
Here’s the setup:
“The mysterious artifact recovered from Requiem takes control of vital systems on board the UNSC Infinity, forcing the Spartans of Crimson and Majestic back down to the planet to look for a way to free the ship. Commander Lasky and the UNSC need you, Spartan…”
Strangely enough, there is no download required and you’ll be able to watch the latest CG cinematic and jump straight into Episode 2 of Spartan Ops without additional content – is this all on the disc and being unlocked periodically? There will be ten free Spartan Ops missions in total, one every week for another eight weeks, which is quite meaty.
Halo 4: Spartan Ops Episode 2 is titled ‘Artifact’ (without an ‘e’) and comprises five additional missions titled ‘Clean Up,’ ‘For Science,’ ‘Hacksaw,’ ‘Pelican Down’ and ‘Gagarin.’
