With the formal global release date announcements for Nintendo’s Wii U, only a few regions were lucky enough to receive official pricing information for the two versions of the home console, and gamers in Europe and South Africa have been desperately seeking out any scrap of information they can find to prepare their pockets for Nintendo’s next device.
Today, however, we’ve received official word from Nintendo South Africa regarding a formal announcement of prices for both the Premium and Basic versions of the Wii U in the country.
Launching on November 30th in South Africa, the Premium Edition of the Wii U will be available for R4 599 (recommended retail price) while the Basic Edition of the Wii U will retail for R3 999 (also RRP).
The Wii U Basic Pack features a Wii U console with 8GB internal storage and a Wii U GamePad, both in White. The Wii U Premium Pack, however, comes standard with a Black Wii U console and Wii U GamePad, 32GB of internal storage and bundled with Nintendo Land.
You can also go for the ZombiU Wii U Premium Pack, which includes a Black Wii U console and Wii U GamePad, and a Pro Controller, for R4 999 (RRP)
Wii U game prices have been set at between R499 and R599 (RRP) – here’s what you can look forward to during the launch window, from November 30th until March 2013:
