This week’s 3DS eShop Update includes two new add-on packs for New Super Mario Bros. 2 as well as a couple of DLC items for New Art Academy. There’s also a new on-rails shooter called Heavy Fire: Special Operations 3D that seems well worth checking out, along with Tecmo’s 1986 arcade platformer Mighty Bomb Jack.
Here’s this week’s Update in full:
3DS Download Software
-
Heavy Fire: Special Operations 3D – £4.49 / €4.99
- Gear up and join an elite Special Forces unit in Heavy Fire: Special Operations 3D, an arcade-style on-rails shooter for Nintendo 3DS. Choose from three character profiles, each with unique attributes, and use a combination of brains and brawn (but mostly brawn) to blast your way through a variety of dangerous ground- and air-based stages. If you’re really feeling trigger-happy, you can earn additional points by blowing up the environment. Each victory sees your rank rise, earning you increasingly powerful and upgradeable weapons. You’ll need superior reflexes and a never-say-die spirit to restore peace. When the smoke clears, will you be a Special Operations legend?
Virtual Console
-
Mighty Bomb Jack – £3.59 / €3.99
- When the royal family is imprisoned inside the Great Pyramid of Evil by the demon Belzebut, it’s up to Jack ‒ the only remaining heir ‒ to rescue them. As Mighty Bomb Jack you must jump and glide through treacherous corridors and enemy-infested rooms, collecting bombs and treasures as you go. Jack can increase his abilities by collecting Mighty Coins… but don’t be greedy or you’ll be punished!
