Media Create Japanese Hardware Sales for week ending October 21st: 3DS duo dwarf the competition

The latest Media Create hardware chart shows that overall console sales are down by 23% compared to the same period last year, despite the introduction of the PS Vita and 3DS XL during the past twelve months. The 3DS and 3DS XL continue to dominate the chart, with the latter handheld outselling the former by 15 338 units during the latest sales period.

The PS3 was marginally outsold by the 3DS to retain third place, while the PS Vita is currently lagging far behind the PSP despite there being only one chart position separating them.
