It was recently confirmed, however, that the DLC will indeed take the form of the ‘Abyssal Forge’ singleplayer campaign, the second in the planned series of add-ons to the Darksiders II adventure. Here’s a description of the content straight from THQ and Vigil:
“The Abyssal Forge is a living machine designed to harness the unfocussed dark power of the Abyss and create the most powerful legendary weapons. The Maker who built this abomination, known only as the Mad Smith, was shunned by his own people and sealed away in the Shadow Lands with his creation.
“However, the forge hasn’t remained dormant all those years of captivity; it has constructed a vast army and now threatens all creation.”
The DLC adds the Shadow Lands area to Darksiders II, which is described as ‘swamp-like,’ and includes two new dungeons, new enemies as well as secrets to discover. Unique legendary loot also lies in wait for you to earn.
“Tailored towards the most competent Darksiders II players,” writes THQ, “the Abyssal Forge will test your mettle against the hardest enemies and puzzles yet!”
Originally, there was no exclamation mark at the end of that sentence, but we thought it necessary to add it in there. You’re welcome, THQ.
Darksiders II: Abyssal Forge will launch on October 30th on Xbox LIVE (800 MS Points), the US PlayStation Store and online for PC ($9.99), while European PlayStation Network browsers will be able to grab the content on October 31st.
