Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have been teasing this announcement all day, and we planned on just playing along and getting enthused about it to make them feel better… but now that the official box art for 2013’s Tomb Raider has been officially revealed we’re genuinely excited!

The artwork that will adorn Tomb Raider’s retail boxes across PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is very powerful indeed and alludes not only to Lara Croft’s seemingly hopeless situation and her vulnerability in her coming-of-age journey, but also hints at her resolve and the action and adventure to come.

She’s a fighter and won’t give up without putting herself to the test.
