The annual rAge expo at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg isn’t just an electronic playground showcasing the latest (and unreleased) videogames, gadgets and technology – it’s also an opportunity for South Africa’s cosplayers to strut their stuff and reveal their latest costume creations.

rAge 2012 played host to what must be the largest contingent of cosplayers we’ve ever seen at the show – we couldn’t walk two meters without bumping into a real-life anime character, a Silent Hill nurse, or a collective of Naruto villains.

Silent Hill’s ‘Pyramid Head’ also made an appearance, before transforming ‘itself’ into The Joker from The Dark Knight – so many characters, all made up in incredible detail.
