Last week in Johannesburg at the Coca-Cola Dome, El33tonline and leading South African ADSL service provider Afrihost left an indelible mark on this year’s edition of rAge, South Africa’s premiere videogame and technology expo.
In a series of feature articles, members of El33tonline talk about their experiences at rAge 2012 and mention a few of their favourite things about this year’s event.
Tom continues our look back at rAge 2012 with his thoughts on the show and his highlights:
Tom’s Experiences at rAge 2012
This year marked my first time at rAge and I can honestly say that the event is everything it’s hyped up to be and lots more besides. The friendliness of everyone I met during rAge was remarkable, and it was great to share our stand with the awesome peeps from Afrihost.
Some of the highlights of the show for me were talking to the developers of ZombiU and Far Cry 3, and getting my first taste of the Wii U by playing Rayman Legends, New Super Mario Bros. U and the aforementioned ZombiU. I can’t wait to have a Wii U sitting under my TV!
Based on the games I played at rAge, I would select Rayman Legends as my personal Game of the Show. I thoroughly enjoyed playing through Rayman Origins and the sequel is both beautiful and innovative, making excellent use of the Wii U GamePad to create an exciting and fun asymmetric co-op experience.
I can totally see myself having a blast playing this game with my wife or a group of friends. The Wii U looks like it will be an awesome console for local multiplayer games!
