This week’s Media Create hardware chart sees lifetime sales of the PS Vita in Japan pass the 1 million mark. Unfortunately the handheld sold just 7 957 units during the past week, well behind the PSP which shifted a further 17 769 units.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 both enjoyed more sales success than usual thanks to the release of Resident Evil 6, and in the PS3’s case – a new ‘Super Slim’ model. PS3 sales were up by 373% week-over-week while Xbox 360 sales increased by 560%.
The Wii U’s Japanese launch is less than two months away so it will be very interesting to see what kind of impact a new Nintendo console has on the market.
