Sales are fairly low on this week’s Media Create software chart, with no game managing to sell more than 63 000 units. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 performed moderately well to take top spot with 62 630 copies sold, but this figure clearly demonstrates that console fighting games don’t generate anywhere near the amount of hype that certain RPGs do (in Japan at least).
Five games in the top ten are for 3DS, with mech-themed RPG Medabot 7 the highest placed entry among this group. New Super Mario Bros. 2 continues to be a top performer with sales only dropping by 9% from last week. This 2D platformer has sold 1 113 157 copies in Japan, making it one of the most successful games released for the handheld thus far.
