Darksiders II confirmed as Wii U launch title, contains extra contentWritten by: / / No Comments
Following the Nintendo Direct Wii U Preview conference today where we finally learned the US and European price and launch dates for the Wii U, THQ has confirmed that the publisher’s Darksiders II will form part of the console’s launch line-up this November.
While Darksiders II has already been released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, the action adventure title from Vigil Games will enjoy an additional five hours of content when it hits the Wii U on November 18th in the US and November 30th in Europe.
Darksiders II for Wii U will not only feature the upcoming expansion, Argul’s Tomb, but will also feature other pre-order bonuses offered to players of the game on other formats. In total, says THQ, this new version of Darksiders II will benefit from “around five hours of playable content and new legendary weapons and armor.”
In terms of gameplay features, Darksiders II on Wii U will use the Wii GamePad tablet controller to display the in-game map, as well as objectives during the campaign, while also “giving quick access to abilities and Death’s inventory.”
The gyro functionality of the controller will also be utilised to help players evade enemy attacks, steer Death while swimming and riding, and manipulate objects.
Producer of Darksiders II, Ryan Stefanelli, said of Darksiders II on Wii U:
“We are delighted that Wii U owners will be able to experience the vast world of Darksiders II at launch. The unique Wii U GamePad adds a whole world of possibility that we will be taking advantage of in this title.”
