With the announcement that Nintendo’s Wii U will be available in the US on November 18th and in Europe on November 30th, Activision has come to the party and announced a selection of titles that will release during the home console’s launch window, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 being confirmed as a launch title.
According to Activision’s Eric Hirchberg, Black Ops 2 on Wii U runs at 60 frames per second online, just like its Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 counterparts, while the console’s tablet controller can be used to check the in-game map, call in Score Streaks and modify your weapons load-out. The tablet controller can also be used for co-operative play, as opposed to splitscreen.
Black Ops 2 on Wii U will also feature support for the WiiMote and Nunchuck, as well as the Pro Controller
In addition to Black Ops 2, Activision will support the Wii U with the following titles, all available from launch until the end of March 2013:
- 007 Legends
- Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013
- Rapala Pro Bass Fishing
- Skylanders Giants
- Transformers Prime
- Wipeout 3 (based on the TV show)
