This past weekend was a hugely exciting one for Metal Gear Solid fans as Kojima Productions finally unveiled first gameplay footage of the recently announced Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.
Since the cut-scenes featured in the trailer are fairly plot-heavy there’s plenty we can glean regarding where this game fits on the MGS timeline. All the evidence points to MGS: Ground Zeroes being set shortly after MGS: Peace Walker (which takes place in 1974) as Chico, Paz and Mother Base are all referred to during the clip, and Chico is shown imprisoned in a cage looking as young as he does in Peace Walker.
Take a look at the two videos below for fifteen minutes of real-time MGS: Ground Zeroes action:
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is being developed for PS3 and Xbox 360 and runs on Kojima Productions’ in-house Fox Engine. The game doesn’t have a release date as yet.
