With the release of Borderlands 2 looming on the horizon, Gearbox Software recently announced that the developer will be offering a Season Pass to let players in on a discount for planned and upcoming game add-ons.
Now that Borderlands 2 is well on its way to release after having gone gold, Gearbox has begun work on the game’s post-release downloadable content. With a whopping four campaign add-ons planned, players will be able to enjoy a saving of 25% if they choose to pre-purchase this content with the Borderlands 2 Season Pass.
The Season Pass will be offered at 2400 MS Points over Xbox LIVE and $29.99 over PlayStation Network and on PC, netting you those four upcoming content packs, but if you buy them individually as they’re released, you’ll be paying 800 MS Points/$9.99 per DLC pack.
This new content, says Gearbox, will feature “new areas to explore, new adventures to undertake, new enemies to overcome and more,” and will all be released by June 2013.
What about members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, you ask? Unfortunately the Season Pass isn’t included in that deal.
Borderlands 2 is out on September 18th in the US and September 21st everywhere else – check out El33tonline’s extensive previous coverage of the first-person RPG and look forward to our preview and hands-on preview soon.
