Report: Wii U release date and price reveal due in SeptemberWritten by: / / No Comments
Nintendo has previously promised us a release date of ‘Holiday 2012’ for its upcoming Wii U, but we might just discover the real launch date for its home console this September, according to a report by Polygon.
Nintendo is to hold an all-day event of some description in New York City on September 13th, hosted by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, which Polygon writes will reveal “more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment” – text that appeared on an invitation sent to the outlet.
Sources say that the launch date and price of the Wii U will likely be the focus of the event, while hands-on time with the console and its known games will also be available. Of note, says Polygon, is that Nintendo hosted a similar event in New York City in 2011 where the company announced the release date and price for its Nintendo 3DS.
Do you think the Nintendo Wii U will launch during its originally announced window of ‘Holiday 2012,’ or has there been a delay? What do you think the price of the Wii U will be?
If an announcement is made on September 13th, you’re sure to find it here on El33tonline – stay tuned!
