Before Sony’s pre-gamescom press conference many PS Vita owners had expressed dissatisfaction at the lack of AAA exclusives for the system. All of Sony’s first-party studios were either working on PS3 titles or secretly developing games for the next PlayStation, it seemed. However during the platform holder’s press conference we learned that LittleBigPlanet creator Media Molecule is currently working on a Vita exclusive called Tearaway, and based on what we’ve seen so far it looks to be every bit as creative and appealing as MM’s previous titles are.
Tearaway is set in a world where everything is made of paper. MM assures us that every character and object in the game can be created using papercraft or origami techniques, as our gamescom team recently discovered for themselves.
Your role in Tearaway is to accompany a messenger called Iota on a perilous journey through a colourful paper dimension. You act as a god of sorts since the world rests in the your hands – literally. You can interact with your environment and enemies using either the Vita’s front or rear touch pad, while the other unique features of the system such as its mic and gyroscope are utilised during gameplay too.

The game doesn’t have a release date as yet but sometime during 2013 is looking likely at this point.
