Gamescom 2012: Media Molecule’s Tearaway follows us home

Written by: / / No Comments

We’ve just got back to our apartments following tonight’s pre-gamescom 2012 press conference held by Sony, and one of the most exciting, creative and intriguing games to be shown at the briefing was Media Molecule’s new papercraft-based game, Tearaway.

After the event, a little paper-something followed us home…

You’ll of course know Media Molecule for bringing the world of LittleBigPlanet to life, but after working on the franchise for a number of years the team is now ready for something new.

Media Molecule’s new vision for PS Vita interactivity was shown in the form of Tearaway, a 3D puzzle platforming game for Sony’s new handheld that takes the device’s features to another level.

We’ll talk about Tearaway more fully very soon, but for now you can have a look at one of the game’s creatures in papercraft form – a little elk that protagonist Iota will see in his (her?) adventures through the papery world.

These little figures were scattered around the Sony press conference area, as promised by Media Molecule’s Alex Evans, and we snagged a couple of the fellows (fellowettes?) on the way out, desperately trying to protect them from a light rain shower (and from getting squished).

They won’t make the trip home to South Africa, but they will adorn our desks until we leave Germany on August 19th – we’ll enjoy them in the meantime:
