Written by: / / No Comments

Most gamers who’ve played the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection agree that it represents one of the best examples of a HD remaster to date. All three titles featured in the Collection run at a smooth 60 frames per second and the art assets and control scheme of the PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker have even been overhauled for the transition to PS3 and Xbox 360.

Konami recently revealed that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be released digitally on the PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Xbox 360 owners won’t be able to purchase MGS2 and MGS3 separately (at least for now) whereas PS3 and PS Vita players have the luxury of being able to pick and choose from the titles in each respective Collection. Konami hasn’t clarified pricing at this point but did provide the following release schedule:

  • 21 August

    • Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty ‒ HD Edition (PS Vita)
