Dated: Swarm to the stores in October for Skylanders: Giants!

Activision Publishing has announced a solid release date for the company’s Skylanders: Giants, the follow-up to 2011’s off-the-charts-successful Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure.

Due for release on October 21st in the US and October 19th in the UK across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, 3DS and Wii, Skylanders: Giants will see players return to the world of Skylands and use the same ‘smart’ toys and ‘Portal of Power’ device as in Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure that enabled gamers to transport their real-life figurines into a virtual, interactive world.

Toys For Bob is still on development duty and has included more adventures this time around, as well as eight new Skylanders toys that are said to be “more than twice the size” of the regular Skylanders figurines we’ve come to know and enjoy. Eight new, normal-sized figures will also become available for Giants.
