There may still be three weeks to go until gamescom officially kicks off, but many publishers have already started to get ready for the world’s largest videogame event.
EA’s line-up is one of the first to go public, and even though there are no big surprises in what the publisher will be showcasing, it’s interesting to see that the build-up for gamescom 2012 has started earlier than ever before this year.
In addition to a pre-gamescom media briefing before the show begins on August 15th, you can look forward to seeing EA’s new football games, FIFA 13 and Football Manager 13, as well as the highly anticipated Crysis 3 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter at the show. Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Sim City and Star Wars: The Old Republic will also be there. One title missing from the list was Dead Space 3, so for now we can only speculate that the next installment in the horror series will be on display.
“gamescom will once again become the international stage for spectacular innovations from the games industry. Among the more than 300 premieres are numerous world premieres which games fans from all over the world are already looking forward to today”, commented Tim Endres, gamescom Project Manager, giving a foretaste of exhibitors’ anticipated presentations.
Typically EA has at least one surprise reveal for us at gamescom, but with Battlefield 4 already announced we’ll just have to wait and see what the publisher has in store for us this year!
