Have you heard of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, a downloadable PlayStation 3 game on PlayStation Network? No?
Good. That means we get to discover it together with the latest screenshots and a few interesting details, including the reveal that the game will feature Tower Defence-like elements.
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault (another classy name in the series) is a return to the classic Ratchet & Clank games that you know – third-person action, over-the-top weaponry and awesome humour – but this time around the team at Insomniac have included a Tower Defence mechanic to the gameplay.
In Full Frontal Assault, you’ll be able to build and defend a base that will be invaded by all manner of baddies, which the team says “brings a whole new level of strategy and decision-making” to the game.
“You’ll want to make sure your Hoverboots are laced up and ready as you race to defeat your enemy while keeping your base secure,” writes senior community manager James Stevenson. “Wait, Hoverboots don’t have laces:”
“In Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, our heroes face a new nemesis ‒ one who has a nasty surprise planned for Captain Qwark,” Stevenson continues. “You’ll be able to choose between playing as Ratchet, Clank, or Captain Qwark, and confront an alien army across five levels set on three different planets. The game allows you and a friend to play together with either split-screen or online cooperative gameplay.”
Full Frontal Assault will also feature an online mode (with more news arriving soon), while the usual collection of upgrades, extra character skins and unlockable content is also promised.
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is out this ‘Fall’ over PlayStation Network, and for now, you can check out a few of the game’s latest screens:
