EA has revealed the box art for Dead Space 3, the latest entry in Visceral Games’ acclaimed survival horror series.
Players will set out on a journey in Dead Space 3, one that takes them through space to a hostile new planet called Tau Volantis. You can expect plenty of horror and action there as you battle not only the treacherous conditions, but deadly enemies too. You’ll be facing off against new Necromorphs, gigantic boss creatures and, in a series first, a faction of Unitologist soldiers.
…But you won’t be alone this time, because Dead Space 3 will feature a drop-in/drop-out co-op feature that will enable you to team up with a friend. This will also give you the chance to experience additional story details and gameplay mechanics (including story cut-scenes, added dialogue and additional side missions) that will only be available when you play as the co-op character Sergeant John Carver.
Dead Space 3 will give players the chance to uncover the secrets of the Dead Space lore. You’ll be able to discover the origins of the Marker, the existence of the Necromorphs and how the two are related. Isaac Clarke will finally discover the source of the Necromorph outbreak, the “key to ending the terror forever and preventing the extinction of mankind.
Dead Space 3 will be released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 next February. Be sure to check out Oliver’s preview from E3 for an in-depth look at the new features present in the latest instalment of this survival horror franchise.
