Catching Up With: Watch Dogs – Ubisoft’s frightening, exceptional vision of the futureWritten by: / / No Comments
Announced at E3 2012 during Ubisoft’s conference this year, Watch Dogs is a brand new open-world action adventure game set in an exceptionally detailed city where players are invited to use any means necessary to achieve their goals – and by the looks of a released gameplay video, it’s shaping up to be very exciting indeed.
Watch Dogs stars Aiden Pearce, whom Ubisoft describes as “a new class of antihero,” and as Pearce you’ll have at your disposal the ability to hack into any connected system in the world to disable, distract and destroy in an effort to get to the bottom of a corrupt world.
“Whether it’s triggering a 30-car pileup by manipulating traffic-lights to trap an enemy during a downtown shootout or tapping into the city’s omnipresent security cameras to access anyone’s personal information, Pearce is capable of coercing and controlling almost every element of the world around him.”
Creative director at Ubisoft, Jonathan Morin said of Watch Dogs:
“Watch Dogs goes beyond the limits of today’s open-world games by giving players the ability to control an entire city. In Watch Dogs, anything connected to the city’s Central Operating System becomes a weapon.
“By pushing the boundaries, we can provide players with action and access to information on a scale that’s never been seen in a video game before.”
