One of the year’s most ambitious games is undoubtedly Assassin’s Creed III. This title has been in development for over three years and is being worked on by no less than three of Ubisoft’s teams. From what we’ve seen so far, Assassin’s Creed III looks like the first proper evolution of the open world genre since Red Dead Redemption rode onto the scene back in 2010.
Ubisoft recently updated the ‘Frontier’ gameplay demo it showed at E3 with commentary from Assassin’s Creed III’s creative director Alexander Hutchinson. He shares a host of fascinating details about improvements made to various areas of the series’ ‘pillar gameplay’ and also highlights some of the incredibly fluid environmental traversal that is made possible with Ubisoft’s new AnvilNext engine. Take a look at the full video below:
Assassin’s Creed III will be released for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 30th in the US and a day later in European territories. The game will also be available as a Wii U launch title.
