One of the most popular rumours going into E3 was that PlayStation Plus would soon be receiving a major overhaul. This rumour turned out to be true although PS Plus is still focused on providing free and discounted PS3 content, with PS Vita sadly being left out of the equation for the time being.

The price of PS Plus remains the same but the benefits are now far greater. The new focus is on providing subscribers with an ‘instant game collection’ when they sign up for Plus. For example, if you become a Plus member in June you’ll automatically qualify to download twelve titles for free which include seven retail games and five digital-only titles.

Every month a few of these games will be exchanged for new ones, and you’ll also see a fresh batch of discounts, free dynamic themes and avatars as well as exclusive access to betas appear on the PlayStation Store for Plus members.

Here are the free games PS Plus subscribers in North America will have access to starting today:

  • Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown
  • inFAMOUS 2
  • Little Big Planet 2
  • Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
  • Just Cause 2
  • Saints Row 2
  • Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
  • Hard Corp: Uprising
  • Choplifter HD
