This morning Konami held a Pre-E3 Show where it shared new details and media for upcoming titles such as Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. One of the highlights of the show was the E3 trailer for the latter game, which showcases a mixture of in-game cinematics and action-packed gameplay.
The trailer holds a couple of surprises. Firstly, the game will now be released “early 2013”. This is a few months later than originally anticipated after Platinum Games took over from Kojima Productions as the primary developer on the project. Secondly, the trailer clearly shows Raiden carving up people and objects using the precision cutting gameplay mechanic that was thought to have been scrapped due to the technical difficulties it posed. Perhaps the developer’s new strategy is to only make certain elements in the environment sliceable?
Here’s the trailer:
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is being developed for PS3 and Xbox 360. A playable demo of the game will be present at E3 next week.
