It was just last week that a fresh new game in the long, long-running Castlevania series of action, exploration and platform games was rumoured into existence on the ‘net, with reports going around regarding something known as ‘Castlevania: Mirror of Fate.’
The supposed game was said to be a Nintendo 3DS exclusive and in development at Mercury Steam in concert with a sequel to 2010’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. According to magazine Nintendo Power, Mirror of Fate is indeed ‘a thing.’
Known as Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, this 3DS game is said to involve fan-favourite character Trevor Belmont, with an opportunity to fight with this classic personality’s version of the Combat Cross (first seen in use by Gabriel in Lords of Shadow).
A boomerang-like weapon and electric bombs are said to be included for use in Mirror of Fate, as well as ‘shadow magic,’ while the usual range of strong, far, grapple and combo attacks will be available along with block and dodge moves.
We’ll be sure to hear more about Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate during Konami’s pre-E3 2012 press conference on May 31st.
