The PS Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is little more than a month away but Konami hasn’t released much footage showing the English build in action. Thankfully the game was present at the recent PlayStation Spring Showcase event held in Toronto, Canada, where a YouTube user managed to capture nine minutes of HD gameplay footage from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
Watch the video below to see Konami brand manager Kevin Vlaming take us through some of the Vita-exclusive features that we can look forward to in the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Some of the nifty actions he performs during the clip include zooming in on cut-scenes and selecting weapons using the touch screen, as well as using the back touch panel to interrogate soldiers and perform knife swipes.
Vlaming repeatedly mentions that the Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection contains all the content and voice acting found in the console release. I’ll be very interested to see the final file size of the compilation seeing as though the console version weighed in at around 20GB (albeit it also included MGS: Peace Walker). Perhaps the Vita release comes on two game cards (the maximum size per card is 4GB) or otherwise it must be heavily compressed to fit two dialogue-heavy games on a single game card.
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Vita will be released sometime during June in the US and European territories. Look out for official confirmation of the exact release date in the next few weeks.
