Atlus has announced that Persona 4 Golden will be coming to the PS Vita in North America this Fall. There are currently no details on a European release.
The publisher was pretty excited about the news, and had this to say in a post on the PlayStation Blog: “Wouldn’t it be amazing if there were some RPG, some massive RPG with dozens and dozens of hours of tried-and-true gameplay and a captivating story to tell? Sure, it takes a while for every system to really get to that meaty part of its lifecycle, but luckily for PS Vita owners, their new handheld is going to get that game this fall.”
The publisher goes on to describe Persona 4 Golden as an “enhanced and expanded (yet comfortably handheld) upgrade to the award-winning RPG classic,” and that it promises to deliver “hours of enthralling storytelling, immensely satisfying combat, intricate party management, and addicting Persona collection and customization.”
Persona 4 Golden features Social Links, the system through which players can “develop and strengthen bonds with characters in the game world,” relationships which enhance their party’s combat capabilities. The game will also feature improvements, such as the remastered visuals and sounds, new Personas to collect and new story events and character.
It will also include 1.5 times the voiced dialogue of the original release, new anime cut-scenes (and new opening animation with a new song from composer Shoji Meguro) as well as a whole bunch of fan-suggested changes and a new online dungeon rescue feature where players can call for assistance from other players in real time.
