If you’ve already solved all of Portal 2’s perplexing puzzles then prepare yourself for an onslaught of community-created challenges from May 8th onwards. This is the date that Valve will release the free ‘Perpetual Testing Initiative’ DLC for the PC and Mac versions of the game, allowing users to design their own levels/puzzles and share their creations with the rest of the Portal 2 community.

Players will be able to publish their levels to the Steam Workshop and sample other users’ offerings. There’ll also be a rating system in place so the best levels are visible to the Portal 2 community. Some of the most ingenious creations will even be automatically downloaded and added to players’ games.

Unfortunately Valve hasn’t announced any plans for a console release of the Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC so Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers are out of luck for the time being.

Are you looking forward to crafting some painfully difficult puzzle-based levels for your fellow Portal 2 players to attempt? Let us know in the comments.
