Where other than Captivate 2012 would you see legendary Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono don a promotional martial arts gown and, Blanka figurine in hand, playfully taunt and gibe an audience to get rowdy in anticipation of the next game under his supervision?
Nowhere else, so if you didn’t see it you certainly missed out.
Luckily for us, however, El33tonline’s Lisa was there to capture the madness in photos and text as Ono and Capcom unveiled the cross-platform features of Street Fighter X Tekken for PS Vita.
So is Street Fighter X Tekken Vita merely a port from home consoles? Not at all.
Street Fighter X Tekken Vita will include 55 characters in total, twelve more than the regular edition. Who’s new to the ‘cross’ style gameplay? Here’s the list:
- Alisa Bosconovitch
- Bryan Fury
- Christie Monteiro
- Lars Alexandersson
- Lei Wulong
You can see them all in action below in a slick feature and announcement trailer:

What if you’ve got the PlayStation 3 version of Street Fighter X Tekken as well as a version of the game on PS Vita? It means you’ll be able to transfer those twelve new characters to the PS3 version of the game!
Also, Capcom is introducing ‘Cross-play’ which will allow “PS Vita players of Street Fighter X Tekken to compete against PS3 players.”
Touch panel control schemes are also supported in Street Fighter X Tekken for PS Vita, and you can read how those work, and also find out about new details, in Lisa’s write-up of the game’s preview event.
So how are we going to keep you entertained here in this post? What about a massive collection of character artwork showcasing the twelve additional characters? Or how about part one in a madcap (and pretty impressive) seven minute video also featuring those characters, all trying to unravel a mystery of some description – get all of that below:
