Final Fantasy XIII-2 featured an all-too-brief appearance by FFXIII’s pink-haired protagonist Lightning. Square Enix always intended to expand FFXIII-2’s story through DLC, and now it seems we’ll be able to play the much-anticipated Lightning episode as early as May.
The latest issue of Famitsu reports that the DLC will be released in Japan sometime during May and will fill in the missing details regarding why Lightning is battling Caius at the beginning of FFXIII-2. Famitsu also claims that the combat during Lightning’s story episode will be different to the game’s standard battle system.
Usually FFXIII-2 DLC doesn’t take more than a couple of weeks to make the transition from Japan to English-speaking territories so we should be getting the Lightning episode in the next few months if Famitsu’s report is accurate.
I personally think Lightning is a more interesting, developed character than Serah or Noel so this will definitely be DLC worth getting!
