Funcom has formally announced that the developer’s long in development and highly (highly) anticipated massively multiplayer online game, The Secret World, will launch in June this year following a successful period of beta testing and after receiving positive hands-on feedback.
Originally scheduled for an April release, Funcom and publisher EA made the important decision to push the release of The Secret World back in order to invest more development time and apply a few more layers of that all-important ‘polish.’
The Secret World is now due for release on June 19th on PC, and leading up to release, Funcom will conduct more closed beta testing periods and will in addition open up for large-scale public beta events.
If you wish to sign up for the beta, you can head on over to the official Secret World website.
According to Funcom, there are already 750 000 beta testers signed up to put The Secret World through its paces, feedback from whom has been positive in the areas of the game’s core features including “role-playing systems, combat, missions, dungeons, story and immersion.”
