Sony has announced that firmware update 4.11 is now available to download to your PlayStation 3. The latest update is not compulsory and you’ll still be able to access all PlayStation Network features using the previous firmware (version 4.10).
The update “improves certain aspects of system software” according to Sony.
It can be downloaded by selecting ‘System Update’ from the ‘Settings’ column of the XMB.
I’m expecting another firmware update to be released in the coming weeks that improves PS3’s compatibility with PS Vita. For instance, Vita-related content downloaded to your PS3 clogs up the ‘Games’ column of the XMB because it cannot be placed into folders as yet. Hopefully the next firmware update addresses this issue.
